Double Diamond G34 Gen5 Extended Stainless Steel Guide Rod

$39.95
SKU: 1234
Non-Captured Stainless Steel Guide Rod for G34 Gen5 — adds extra weight to the muzzle of the gun to help reduce muzzle flip and felt recoil. Makes sense, more weight ... less recoil.
Our extended guide rods are made of Stainless Steel and will fit flush with the slide on the 34. It will also function in the 17L/24.

This rod includes a recoil spring weight of your choice. Factory weight is 17lb. What's nice about this is that you can purchase different spring weights and use just one guide rod. Additional spring weights can be found below in related items.

Total Weight W/O Spring: 28 Grams (0.95 oz.) at the end of the muzzle where it is most effective.

Please Note:
This guide rod is made longer specifically for the Gen 5 Glock 34 due to where the guide rod locks onto the Gen 5 barrels. It is too long to use in the Gen 4 and earlier Glock 34/35.

For previous generations, please see item #1123.

USPSA Production legal.

SS Guide Rod with 15LB Spring

by

I put this SS Guide rod with a 15Lb spring into my G34 (front serration model). Loading the un-captured spring into the slide was not difficult, of course the OEM captured spring is very fast and easy to install. I took the pistol to the range today and put a box of Winchester White Box box through it. I only shoot this type of factory target ammo (White Box, UMC, Red Box) with this gun so I went with a moderately reduced spring weight (OEM is 17Lb). On the range my 34 cycled every round and always returned to battery . I can't say that I could feel a significant reduction in recoil or muzzle flip, but the gun seemed more comfortable to shoot. I can say that the action of the slide is very smooth with this setup. I would buy this RSA again, but if you are looking for a dramatic reduction in recoil and flip you may not find that to be the case.
