When Gaston Glock does something, he does it right. This Glock knife is the military issue for the Austrian Armed Forces. Its 7" blade is extremely sharp and is made of high carbon steel, the kind that can easily be sharpened in the field. The handle is made of a high-strength polymer (of course) and the backbone of the blade features a wicked saw-style blade that looks like it will cut through just about anything. If you own a Glock pistol you need to add the Glock Field Knife to your collection.

Glock knives were developed in close cooperation with the special forces of the Austrian Army. To achieve best performance and function, no compromises were made in the design, which is getting more approval with every year of service. The Glock Field Knife is furthermore perfectly balanced for throwing.

Glock Field Knives are best known for their outstanding ruggedness which offer a large range of applications — starting from a "First Aid" knife, inside the car window breaker, to a bone crushing knife for hunters. The cross bar protects the hand against injuries and can be used as a thumb rest and as a bottle-opener.

In addition to the above, Glock knives are sturdy enough to break windows or ammunition boxes, requirements by Armed Forces among many others. Besides the Austrian Army, these multipurpose knives were adopted and are on duty today at various law enforcement agencies and famous special units all over the world.

Glock Field Knife with scabbard/sheath.

by

I purchased the knife because it is a Glock. Glock got his start making bayonets and knives so I thought I'd give the Glock Field Knife a try. It is well made, sharp, Made in Austria, and the scabbard/sheath is Glock polymer. The scabbard/sheath is rigid and locks the knife in place. To remove the knife, you really need two hands, one to hold the knife handle, the other to lift the retaining tab on the scabbard/sheath. I tried using one hand with the knife on my belt, both a leather and tactical belt, but I couldn't draw the knife so using two hands is a must. Great knife for camping, hiking, hunting or to keep in your bug out bag.

Tough, well-balanced for throwing.

by

I wanted to re-learn how to throw knives, and I had trouble finding knives that were tough enough, while sill being real knives, not flat dart-like blades with no handles and goofy-looking holes in them for "balance." I ended up buying 2 Glock FM-81 knives for throwing. They don't break when they hit the target at odd angles, backward, or even miss my target and go bouncing down the gravel driveway. In fact the only way I've damaged them (minor cosmetic issues, nothing serious, nothing that reduces their functionality) is when the first knife sticks in the target and the second knife hits it. The handles have been gouged and nicked many times due to that phenomenon. But the tips of the blades have never bent or broke, and I've broken several lesser knives, even name-brand fixed-blade hunting knives or fighting daggers, while learning to throw them at wooden targets.

Workhorse blade

I originally got gifted one of these from an Glock rep and had it for years and beat the crap out of it. Absolute work horse of a blade. Ended up losing it to a fire, but happy I could find someone who still sells them.
