SS80 80% Lower
Ratings & Reviews
Overall, an excellent product
Was easy and fast to complete. The drill yourself locking block came out perfect, however take note I used a milling machine and am highly skilled in using one. Even so, I would have preferred to have the block pre-drilled as they are other Poly80 models.
The trigger wouldn't function properly when completed, and I determined the cruciform on the trigger bar wasn't assembled correctly into the ejector housing (no fault of the SS-80). I had to remove the locking block to get the trigger and ejector out, and that was very difficult to do with the trigger in place. But I got it, and all is well. It is a great shooter.
The plastic screws supplied were too short to fasten the jig together. I had to buy some longer ones .
I'd build it again!
Overall this is very nice. It was very easy to complete in less than 2 hours. It looks good, feels good and shoots great for me. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because it is unfathomable how they let these kits go out the door with screws too short to hold the jig together! Also, despite holding the locking block in place securely when drilling it, my block does rock upward a little bit after use as others have complained. I don't see this affecting function but it is there and could have been engineered out.
Customer Service champions!
High quality product that shoots great! The support and care that comes from GS is unmatched. I will be using GS for all my parts and upgrade needs... Thank you and your team for my “Made in San Diego CA” firearm.
Beauty! Well worth the wait!!
Received my SS80 frame a couple of weeks ago and finally got it done last week. Drilling the locking block along with the frame is absolutely the way to go, Lenny is right, this had been a problem with my previous Polymer80 builds, NOT with the SS80!
I did cheat and use a drill press to drill the frame and locking block holes, clamping the jig flat to the press table and being very careful to make sure the drill bit was perfectly aligned with the guide holes in the jig. This worked perfectly and I could actually press the trigger pin through the frame with only finger pressure.
The complete Glock upper was a bit rough causing failures to feed at first, so I spent a little time smoothing the breach face, deburring the extractor and extractor rod, and breaking the sharp upper edge of the feed ramp. Took it back to the range today, and it shoots like a champ!
Don’t hesitate, build this gun.

Well worth the wait! Took less time than I expected. I’m fortunate enough to have access to a drill press so drilling was super easy.
Shoots even better than I expected. No hang ups or failures.
Super quick to build but minor issue has me guessing
From start to finish was less than one hour. I had issues similar to other reviews I read about the screws for the jig not being long enough to mate up with the nuts. I am lucky enough to have a vise that I can get around on both sides so I didn't need to remove it and turn it around. It all went together relatively easy but it seems like the hole that get drilled for the trigger is a bit low. My slide stop does not want to engage when an empty mag is in so the slide doesn't stay back. Also the trigger does not want to consistently reset making me wonder if its a problem with my finishing, the trigger, the upper or a combination of all three. Regardless I ordered a second on (in a different color) to give it another shot. With any luck its just me not being perfect thats the issues and I'll end up with a fun gun at the range.
Got my SS80 Kit in the mail this week finished it fired it and I love it!!!! Put 200 rounds down range preformed flawlessly......as the saying goes.. THIS IS MY GUN THERE ARE MANY LIKE IT BUT THIS ONE IS MINE🤣
Great customer service

The New Pre-Drilled Locking Block Makes this a much better product!
I had purchased one of the original pre-orders, and was fairly happy with the completed product. When I saw that the SS80 was on sale for Christmas, I decided that I would try a second build and try to do better at drilling the locking block this time.
I was EXTREMELY SURPRISED & HAPPY when my second order arrived, and it included a pre-drilled locking block. It took me about 20 minutes to cut off the deny rails, drill the trigger and ejector housing pin holes, and put it all together. Having the pre-drilled locking block made things so much easier, and everything fit perfectly. I am so glad the the GlockStore made this change :)
Would def buy again if the price drops to $99 again.
Had a legitimate problem, overall good.

starting off, I love the frame, and completed, this is better than the factory 43. that said, I did have a few problems with the jig. when I got my jig, the screws that hold the thing together wouldn't grab the nut on the other side to secure the frame; I improvised, and with a few spares I had the thing finished in a few hours.
I also did not like that the block in the front that has to be cut is set into the frame at an angle, while filing it I kept nicking the frame. you need a very particular set of files for this project.
NOTE: I have not fire tested the weapon, I have only function tested it with dummies.
EXCELLENT, BUT CAN BE BETTER!
excellent frame! the SS80 OD green matches vickers tactical "glock green" color perfectly. i would have given this thing 5 stars if the front rails were built like the PF940/P80 rails. the rail just seems a bit too flimsy for long term use...but we will see. i would also love it if the front rails were pre-drilled as well!
The build turned out nice. The trigger pin is a bit loose. The front bar came pre-drilled, which the directions and videos say you have to do it yourself. Not sure why....

This is my favorite pistol. I purchased the sand color lower, with the silver Glock 48 upper. Looks amazing, shoots amazing. The grip angle is better than a factory Glock as well. I wish I could post pictures.........
polymer 80 full size 9mm
bought the full size kit. I took my time and finished in about 2 hours. I was in no hurry at my age. took to the range and shot 200 rounds with no failures to feed or eject and accuracy perfect. all the parts went in with very little fitting and no problem with the block. I cut down the mag release since it stuck out little to far because I shot left handed. buy one take your time, use a drill press for the holes and never look back. really a great gun.
Great build but could be better.
I just completed a second SS80 because I liked the first one so much but both builds had the same problem with the pre-drilled locking block not quite lining up with the trigger pin hole you drill with the guide. To get the trigger pin in, you have to elongate the trigger pin hole in the frame to allow it to go through the locking block leaving a non round hole in the frame. Going back to the locking block that needs to be drilled so they line up correctly or fixing the alignment issue needs to be addressed.
I also agree that the locking block needs a second pin to keep the front from rotating up and modified my second build by adding two set screws, one on either side. just forward of the take down by drilling and tapping through the polymer frame and locking block. This keeps the front of the locking block from rising up.
great for making a G43L
I got one if these a few weeks ago. put it together with a stock G48 slide and barrel. got just over 100 rounds through it with 0 problems. with plus one mag extensions for a pinky rest it is about the perfect size for a carry gun IMHO. shoots great.... can we get a G36 one now please.
1st SS-80 build
Finally got to build my SS-80. I was nervous since was my first time building this. Watched the 4 videos and did what showed to do. I enjoyed building the pistol, was fun, and functions with no problems. I can’t wait to build another. Thanks!
Fun to Build

The kit works as advertised. There are plenty of videos on Youtube that show you how the build is done. The grip is solid and feels pretty good. I have 2 questions: The rear trigger housing pin seems about 3-4 mm too short. I was expecting the ends of the pin to be flush with the frame, but they are not. Is this just me ?
Second, a stock magazine is pretty tight in the mag well. Should I sand the mag well out slightly ?
great new hobby
My 1st build and it was successful......now I'm hooked and want to build more......great to learn about the functions of this firearm by building it........recommend this all firearm newbies
