Glock 19 Gen 5
Ratings & Reviews
PICKED UP MY NEW GEN.5 19 LAST SUNDAY.
I HAVE PUT 400 ROUNDS ON MY FIRST RANGE TRIP WITH NO FAILURES OF ANY KIND.
I FOUND THE HANDLES GREAT AND ACCURACY IS BETTER THAN MY GEN 4.
I WAS PRODUCING 3" GROUPS @ 20YARDS SHOOTING FROM A SANDBAG REST WITH FEDERAL HST 124 +P.
I COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED WITH ALL THE IMPROVEMENTS AND IT IS ABOUT TIME CLOCK IS PUTTING A QUALITY FINISH ON THEIR GUNS . HOPEFULLY THEY WILL FINISH THEIR ENTIRE LINE AS WELL." BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER" GLOCK OWNERS LIKE GOOD LOOKING GUNS TOO!
ANYONE CONSIDERING THE GEN.5 SHOULD NOT HESITATE.
TIME WILL TELL, THIS MAY BE THE BEST GENERATION YET!
Superb handgun. Especially for first time buyers.
The Gen 5 Glock 19 9mm is a great improvement from the previous generations. The marksman Barrel enables better accuracy by far, and the new factory finish is amazing. Have put 200+ rounds through mine using a variation of Blaser Brass FMJ 115grain bullets and federal FMJ 115 grain rounds. No failures whatsoever. Love it.
Great utility gun for my needs!
I've been an XD fanboy for years. I've always liked XD's, shot them well and had no reason to change. I started looking for something new to carry and was determined to find my perfect EDC. For me I wanted at least a 4" barrel, good capacity, reputation for reliability, all my fingers to fit on the handgrip, lefty friendly and preferably not ambi .....all in a gun I would not be ashamed of destroying the finish through edc....oh, I'm 6'2" and 160lb so it also had to be concealable on not much more than a street sign post. Have shot various ammo through it totaling about 1k rnds w/ zero issues. Shoots strait, goes bang every time, handle is only 1/4" longer than a 13rnd subcompact XD and an inch shorter than an XD extended mag. Downsides......Ergonomics arnt great but I'm acclimating. New to Glock stock sights, not for me and will swap them out soon. Trigger not very good, already replaced w/ an Apex and its an improvement. All in all, Best gun for me and my needs out there today.
Would love to own one
For those of us who live in Kalifornistan, this and many other great firearms will be out of our reach due to California's handgun roster. If you live here, you can only dream about updated and improved versions of older guns like this. Those who live in a free state and want a good laugh, check out the CA handgun roster. Those of us who live her can only cry.
My first Glock....and I love it!
Just got my G19 Gen 5 on 3/12/18....and I love it. My first 250 shots at the range where on point. My accuracy was really good at about 10 to 15 yards..really impressed being my first Glock. Bought a 30 round extended mag for it..and had a BLAST at the range,LITERALLY!!
I’ve had my Gen5 for 2 months and have put about 1200 rounds through it. I have used about 7 different brands of ammo and different types like hollow points and fmj different grains and all that. No issues at all. Literally works flawlessly every single pull. On top of that the new finish on the barrel and the slide are amazing looking and easy to clean. The tolerances are a little tighter so there will be wear rings on the barrel but obviously doesn’t effect the accuracy. The newer barrel is very reliable for me shooting at 20-25 yards if you do your part, this gun will not disappoint. Lack of finger grooves is great for me. I couldn’t be happier with any other pistol.
Glock nineteen generation five.
I love this gun.
First Handgun! Awsome but want more!
by Elvis Aguilar
I love the Gen 5, It's my First handgun. I put 1000 round on it already. Loads of fun and none the less it is reliable. I know the gun came out somewhat recently but I wish there were more aftermarket parts to customize my Glock; an extended well mag. Maybe something to fill in the mag "cut out" that they did recently to the gen 5. How long will it take for companies to start providing aftermarket parts for gen 5?
Specifics on what is GREAT
I have been shooting this for about 7 months and shot about 4200 rounds through it. I still have not had any issues at all. over time the trigger got better (which was already an improvement from the Gen 4) I have put a 3.5 connector, which you can find on this site, and that helped smooth the trigger out and it feels perfect for EDC. I also got the extended slide take down lever which makes disassembly so much easier. The mag well being slightly flared helps with mag changes, the barrel is still shooting very straight and the barrel and slide finish is still holding up. I take this in and out of the kydex holster a ton of times each day practicing my draw and dry fire and the finish shows no wear at all and still wipes clean from gunpowder. Extremely well made pistol and nice upgrades from the Gen 4.
Seriously anyone thinking about getting this gun, do it and treat yo self!! It really is an amazing pistol and you wont be disappointed!
Gen 5 is Nice
The Gen 5 is definitely an upgrade from the Gen 4. I remember the subjective: Hand size, tight or loose use of controls, grip feell and fingergroove preferences. I think there is a better grip due to whatever changes were made. I do like fingergrooves in the Gen 4 but the Glock 19 has been too small for my hands and still is, however the angle or something makes it much more accurate. I know many are apprehensive about the new rifled barrel but I found it to be very accurate. I liked 124 grain Winchester 9mm Luger NATO FMJ through it and those were hot rounds. All factory parts are just fine.
I purchased the gen 5 shortly after it came out, and it has not disappointed me. I also have the G19 gen 4 and still love it too. However I think then gen 5 has become my favorite. It shoots really nice, slightly better than the gen 4 (to me anyway). I really like the new coating on slide, and the lack of finger groves. There’s much more I could say, but the bottom line... I highly recommend this gun.
Two of my daughters and I all have one. All three of us couldn’t be more pleased.
Accurate and precise, excellent grip
Excellent gun, replaces my Glock 19 Gen 3. Modified it with a Romeo Zero Red Dot making it a very accurate weapon.
New Gen5 Glock
Well, so far, so good! I like it a lot, and it carries well. Nice size, great duty carry size. If I wanted a smaller concealment pistol, I have others for that. 16 rounds of 9mmP should be more than enuff to "get the job done"- God forbid something like that should ever come up! My only concern with this pistol is a lack of add-on or up-graded replacement parts as sold for the Glock 19 1-4 models. One helpful thing is the new barrel with more conventional rifling than other Glock models, which should work with lead reloads. Glock doesnt recommend reloads so I'm on my own there.
I purchased my first Glock and it is the Glock 19 Gen5 and I have to say I love everything about it including the trigger which is perfect. I have only had it since October and I knew the moment I put my hands on it this is my Gun.
